FOLLOWED YOU?!

Jack had left work late, trying to finish up a couple of things and continue to get an angle on their suspect: a man they knew was guilty yet were unable to bring in. Jack took full responsibility for what had happened. A conversation with him and Elridge also put his mind at ease that mistakes did happen, and that it wasn't enough to transfer her out. Jack had faith in her, confidence in her and despite the mistake made now . . . she had at least identified a threat. Now, they just needed to creative on how to get him.

After getting home, Jack decided a late night run would help distract his mind and burn off some of that stress, picking up some take out on the way home. Quickly showering, changing into casual attire consisting of sweats and a t-shirt, and settling in for the night . . . a knock at the door alerted him to other plans. Making his way there, he opened it to see Sue on the other end. An unexpected but by no means unwelcome visitor.

"Hi," he greeted. "Everything alright?" He asked as he stepped aside so that she could enter. This was the first question that popped into mind. He knew she too must have a lot on her mind when it came to the case, and the need to prove herself to others -- which Jack hated that she had to -- so he wondered if it was such troubles that brought her to his doorstep at this hour. Plus, the expression on her was one that kept Jack from thinking that everything was great.

Henry Proctor had just walked up to her car, after clearly waiting for her to leave the store, and made it seem like he was playing a game. As if this wasn't just a simple bombing. Some bombing? Who was she that bombing were simple. No! She needed to tell Jack, and the phone was still new to him--plus she didn't want to go home. What if he knew were she lived? While she didn't want someone taking care of her, she wasn't foolish. She wasn't going to risk Levi that way! Plus Jack was her training officer, and she didn't know the protocol for this.

Once he opened the door, Sue took in her non-work clothing. Jack was a handsome man, and she liked him, but she knew there couldn't be anything between them. Walking in, Sue made sure Levi followed her before looking back to Jack. "I went to the store after work, and when I came out Henry Proctor was waiting for me."

FOLLOWED YOU?!

Jack closed the door behind Levi, turning to face Sue as she explained the reason for her distress. Jack's expression shifted to one of concern, hearing that Proctor had clearly been watching and apparently waiting for Sue."He was waiting for you?" Jack repeated and acknowledged at the same time, the concern on his expression matching his tone of voice.

"Are you ok?" He asked immediately after, his eyes searching Sue for any indication that Proctor had harmed her. Sue was his responsibility, but more than that . . . he felt protective over her. Fully aware that the need to protect her went beyond that of just a training agent. But of course, he couldn't exactly voice that. He had so many questions to ask her but was waiting for the answer to the most important one now: was she ok. Then, Jack would address the rest.

She couldn't hear, but she could tell Jack's voice was louder by the way his mouth moved. His face also looked concerned and . . . she liked it. But she knew that he was just looking out for a new agent, and maybe even a friend. It still made her feel a little safer knowing that he wasn't happy with Henry Proctor.

"We are both ok." She told Jack, meaning her and Levi. It was her way of not replying to the question directly, because she was physically ok, but shaken in the inside. Someone had followed her. A bomber! "He only talked to me. But I think he was following me. How else would he had found me there?" Which was the part she didn't know how to handle. And the part that had shaken her. Plus his words of making this sound like a fun game to him.

FOLLOWED YOU?!

Jack was relieved to hear that Sue was ok -- or that both Sue and Levi were ok -- but it wasn't difficult to tell that she was shaken. And rightfully so. This was her first case and with that, Jack had hoped there wouldn't be so many complications or dangers from it.

Clearly, that was not the case. It was true that he was probably following her . . . watching her. Which brought up the next question he had. "Did he follow you here?" Jack asked, ready to go out and find out so that he could give Proctor a piece of his mind. Had he followed Sue home? Did he know where she lived? Sue was observant enough to know if she was being followed and either way, Jack was going to make sure she didn't see Proctor again tonight. "Here," he said, motioning to his couch. "Have a seat," he gently encouraged.

"No, he walked away first and I saw him leave." However, that didn't mean he hadn't followed her for longer then that, and didn't know where she lived. "I watched to make sure no one followed me here. I didn't want him knowing where others lived." If anything happened to Jack because of her she wouldn't know what to do. She'd never forgive herself. Jack meant a lot to her. --Professionally! . . . and personally.

He offered her a seat, and Sue walked over to sit on the couch. Levi moved close to her, and laid on her feet--a sign he knew she was having some emotional turmoil. Dogs were like that, and she w reached down to scratch his ear in a comforting manner. Looking back up to Jack, "He made this all sound like a game he was playing with us. He said it was just beginning." Which made her worried for whatever was planned.

FOLLOWED YOU?!

At this point, Jack was more concerned about Proctor knowing where she lived rather than him knowing where he lived. He had clearly targeted Sue, undoubtedly knowing that she was the one who had found him out . . . it made Jack worried for what else Proctor might do, or try to do. Jack wasn't about to let anything happen to Sue. "Does he know where you live?" Jack asked. Sue said that he had followed her and that she had went to the store, but Jack wanted to make sure that she didn't stop home in between, even briefly.

If she had, there was a chance Proctor was waiting for her at her house. If not, then Proctor had probably followed Sue from work after he was released. Either way, it was concerning and quite unsettling. "He's taunting us," Jack agreed. It wasn't the first time someone with malicious intent taunted the police. Terrorists often did it. Serial killers. "He thinks he's smarter than us," Jack continued to say. Which only added onto the urgency of needing to find something to prove what he was planning. "What did he say exactly?" Jack asked, wondering if there was a threat directed at Sue in his statements, or whether this was all just him working to scare her.

Did he? That was a question that Sue had been worried about. "I am not sure. It's a possibility. I don't know how long he was following me." She wanted to look good at her job, and she knew she needed to pay more attention. Messing up this much wasn't what she wanted to be known for. Miles already wanted her gone, and she didn't want to give anyone else a reason to agree.

"He told me that the game was fun. It was changing. I think he plans to still go through with his plan." Which meant that people could die because she messed up. Sue was facing the conquenses for the first time, and it worried her. If her mother had taught her anything it was to learn and adapt quickly. This would not happen again. "It's frustrating to know he will hurt people, and not be able to stop him." She admitted, not having known this would be part of the job. She was grateful that Jack was her training officer, and she wasn't doing this alone.

FOLLOWED YOU?!

She said she wasn't sure before explaining what he had said; saying that things were changing and that the game was fun. Yes. It certainly did sound like a game to him, and he was enjoying it. The power he felt he had over them, and everyone at the company. It was after all why he had initially called Daughtry with the threat. Proctor could have blown up the place without anyone suspecting it, but he wanted them to know about it. And as Sue said, he was still planning on going through with his plan. Which was why time was of the essence. Critical . . . because lives did indeed depend on it.

"I know," Jack said softly when she said that it was frustrating. The confines of politics and the law itself hindered them many times before, and would in the future. And the sooner Sue discovered that, he supposed the better. "But we will stop him," he assured her. "We'll find a way. You identified him as the threat Sue. Without that, we wouldn't even have known who we were looking for." He knew she felt guilty for the mistake about the illegal search warrant, but he also wanted her to focus on the good work she had done on the case. And not let the others doubt of her, make her doubt herself. "Why don't you stay here for a bit," he offered. "I can take you home later, and we'll put agents outside your home." In case Proctor decided to try anything else. Though he didn't like the thought of her being by herself.
